Designer / Pause/Play Video
« Last post by chronogear on February 15, 2018, 08:36:51 AM »
Hello everyone.

I need to make a template with play/pause button for Video. I found this example on the forum, but it doesnt work very well. It does pause the video (but the video disappears when i pause). Then i resume, it comes back ok at the right timestamp where it was left behind. BUTTTT after the video finishes playing for the first time, it just bugs out like playing for 2 seconds, then restarting again. I don't know. Does anyone have a working play/pause button for a video?

Any help is appreciated. Really thanks.

Player / Problem with animated gif's
« Last post by Reiner on February 07, 2018, 08:18:09 AM »

I have a problem with animated gifs. I've set the time for the gif to 7s, but the player shows all the gifs about 35s. I changed the time in my playlist, but it does not change the playing time.

Does anyone have an idea?

Content Manager / New "Alternate" option for Schedules and Playlists
« Last post by JPorter_SW on January 26, 2018, 02:49:12 PM »
Does anybody know how the new "alternate" feature works? My understanding is that you could have a transparent BG when scheduling playlists which would be very powerful for having playlists scheduled on top of playlists . . . but . . . it doesn't work. I have a main schedule screen that runs on most of my schedules but in the evening the building is sometimes rented by other companies that has an evening playlist overtop of the main schedule playlist. Right now, when the evening playlist kicks in but nothing is added to that playlist, it goes black (even with the transparent option selected). I would love a (working) transparent option so if nothing is scheduled in that playlist than it just keeps showing the schedule screen. Any thoughts?

Will you also update python?
For example, after updating python from 2.6.2 to 2.7.11 (attached to Scala CM 11.03.06), one of the scripts written in python has stopped working. I found that in the new version there is no ZSI catalog, which in version 2.6.2 is in the path: C: \ Program Files (x86) \ Python26 \ Lib \ site-packages \
I copied this directory to Python 2.7.11 to the location: C: \ Python27 \ Lib \ site-packages
Pyhona's script started working as before
This solution may also help you
Designer / Re: Translating Text
« Last post by rhuffman8 on January 24, 2018, 02:48:11 PM »
I am working with an interactive touchscreen script and the question of offering different language options upon user request was raised. It seems like a bit of a long-shot but is there an easy way built into Designer or perhaps a plugin that allows this to be done with the selection of a button or something without actually having to manually translate all the text?

Now that this conversation is going on 6 years old and the issue has reared it's head again (didn't end up having to deal with it last time) I'm wondering if anything has changed about this situation or if there's any word of changes on the horizon from Scala that I haven't heard about. Thanks!

Interesting. Thank you. No, I created the script in Scala Designer. It works great so long as there is a COM port to communicate with. When there isn't or the COM port number is wrong, then it freezes up.  Seems to me that Scala should do what it normally does and report the error and then move on to the next slide.

Did you try use SerialLink from python?
See the doc from: file:///C:/Python27/Lib/site-packages/scalalink.html#SerialLink

Hi Carsten,

When you add the Webpage item to a Playlist, you can access Item Properties for that item. At the bottom of the list of properties is Interactive: Yes/No. Set this to No and the arrow will disappear.
