Bug causing Scala to become unusable
« on: April 10, 2013, 02:58:17 AM »
Hi there,

I've been experiencing a bug on a laptop that I have installed Scala on which is preventing the software from being used at all.

When I open the Scala Player configuration, the window displays, but inside all that appears is a black screen. None of the setting can be changed at all. If on the rare occassion that I am able to get the screen content to display, the window does not react to a mouce click, meaning nothing can be modified in any way.

Any guidance you can provide would me much apprechiated,

Kind Regards,

John

Have you tried updating the scala version on the laptop?  Sounds like the install is corrupted and just may need to be reinstalled.  Is it scala player we're talking about?  And if so, what version?

Standard answer: Disabled UAC? Update directx and graphics drivers to the latest and see if it helps.
What does the IC.log say in Scala Logs (start menu group)

Thanks for the responses guys.

I've done everything suggested and no changes at all. Latest Scala version, multiple re-installs.

I was getting several errors in the Log, but nothing related to the issue I was having.

Consider this issue abandoned. Thank you very much for your assistance though.

Kind Regards,

John
