Update ellipse position according to live parameters
« on: May 20, 2016, 07:28:57 AM »

I'm working on a script wherein i want to move an ellipse according to gestures captured by a kinect device. I was able to share the coordinates i want to use with the scala script but it appears that the ellipse position is not updated in real time with the coordinates changes. It is updated every once in a while like every second or so. I know that text expressions are updated in real time so why other parameters like the ellipse position aren't ?

Thanks, Maher

Only the text of a text element is updated as variable change. No other parameters for elements are updated "live" like this.

You can make it look like the ellipse moves by replacing it with a new ellipse using the new position each time the position changes. Be sure to play the same command in the script (usually in a resource) to draw the ellipse each time, and use OnUpdate(Replace) so you won't end up with a bunch of ellipses stacked on top of each other.
