Players Not Playing
« on: July 13, 2016, 01:08:03 PM »
Hello everyone,

We've been having an issue with a few of our players constantly restarting, with player giving the "Restarting system. Please wait." message as seen in other posts. On content manager, it shows the following error on the player health log:

Failed to configure monitor "m1".
Error 824.1: (mm3d) DirectX Error: D3DERR_NOTAVAILABLE(0x8876086A)
Not available

We've tried reimaging the players to our stock image that other players are running fine on, but this hasn't changed anything. We're running Scala player 10.5.5. Does anyone have any ideas about this? Any advice would be much appreciated. Thanks so mcuh!

Hello gtdss;

Here are some ideas:
- Check the video adapter drivers; Scala usually recommends to use the most recent ones;
- Check the hardware recommendation at docs.scala.com, specially for banned display adapters;
- Remember to instal Microsoft´s DirectX 9.0c!
- Double check if the following features are available (dxdiag.exe): DirectDraw; Direct3D
- double check if the Scala Player is not configure to display 2 channels, but Windows has only one display activated;

Best of luck

Hey Norberto,

Just saw this, but thanks so much! We got another image to run Scala, but that one ended up having trouble with video streams so back to the drawing board! I'm sure this will help, thanks again!
