Crawl spanned over several pages?
« on: September 15, 2016, 02:41:21 PM »
Another problem I need to be helped with - please:

Let´s say  I have 10 pages.
On page 3 there is a crawl element which get´s it´s content from an external text file (this is working right now).

Now the SAME crawl should be continued (same text, same position) also on pages 4 to 7. On page 8 to 10 it should not be displayed.

This is why I can´t make my crawl element global.

a) So how to continue crawling on a diffenrent (following) page?

b) If I have to make it global - how to hide ist on several pages?

Two ways you could do this.
1) Use the SetVisible command on a global text crawl to control when it's visible. When it's not visible, it will still keep running, so be aware of that.
2) Examine the script in a text editor to see how global elements work. That should give you enough hints to make a global text crawl that only appears on pages 3 through 7, if you group those pages. If you do it this way, the text crawl will restart the next time page 3 plays.

Is it possible that Global elements can be "layered"?  I have a template that will have a global crawl, however, I have a design element that I would like the global crawl to come from behind.
