Better than the previous forum for sure. Some minor things though.

1. Why you are using iso-8859-1 in an international forum and not UTF-8?? This is a big issue since some users may post in their native language (see this post witch is written in russian (it's a spam post by the way): http://forums.scala.com/index.php?topic=7.0).
2. You could use vBulletin forum instead of the SimpleMachines. vBulletin is ages ahead of every other forum software out there. I think there is still time to do it, and there is a utility to transfer all data from SimpleMachines to vBulletin in a few steps.

I haven't noticed anything else yet.

The layout is nice, sure.  But where the heck are all the legacy posts and topics?

That information was invaluable!  Please tell me there is some plan to migrate that data over.  It would be a real shame not too...

I have converted the forum to UTF-8.
Over the next few weeks I will install several language packs. Feel free to suggest any languages you would like to see, but I am limited a bit in scope.

The legacy posts are here: http://forms.scala.com/asp/messageboard.asp
This archived forum will stay up at this location. It will not migrate to this new forum as it is a totally different and incompatible setup.

Hi Dennis. Nice work. Un-marked-up text data is never really incompatible. It's just some field mapping and spinning through a script. If you ever want to chat about it, let me know!

Hi, was wondering if there was going to be an Ad Manager section in this forum?

Can you create a new section?

  • Scala Scripting, for example

Thanks

I agree with dark_side, we've posted some scripts in infochannel 3 forum... I think scripts should get their own home  :)

Thanks! Can you please move this topic: http://forums.scala.com/index.php?topic=80

into that forum? It's a VB/PHP/MySQL sctipt, i think dark_side would agree for the move!

I think that is possible, but I will let that up to the originator of the topic:

go to "Modify" post, then "Additional Options", then "Move This Topic"
