Python not working on W7-64bit enterprise player
« on: July 23, 2011, 09:42:59 AM »
I have a system running 5.1.30 with win7 64 bit enterprise.

Almost everything runs like a charm, except my python script reading RSS feeds, which works fine on my other system (server 2003 plus XP-players) and my old installment running XP pros only.

I guess that my problem is some kind of rights on the machine. I can see Python works by testing some other scripts, but not when running from inside the player.

Any ideas and suggestions on how to resolve this?

Forgot to write that my designer machine, which is also win64 enterprise, works fine. So what could cause the player not to run python scripts?

I tried to run the soptimizer in the infochannel player 5 directory, in the hope that it could help me.

But I get this message in the error log:

RuntimeError: can't create const
Traceback (most recent call last):
  File "soptimizer.py", line 13, in ?
  File "gtk\glade.pyo", line 9, in ?
File "gtk\glade.pyo", line 7, in __load
ImportError: DLL load failed: Wrong parameter.

Why is that?

And I who thought this was the place with the experts.

All that is needed, is to turn off UAC (User Account Control) in windows.

soptimizer still don't work though.
