Length of Cable before booster is needed

Beginner question: What is the maximum distance the monitor from the PC Player before a signal booster is required?

As with many things--it depends:

aVGA or DVDI-D or HDMI or DisplayPort?

What is the "quality" of the copper, the connector solder joins, and insulation in the cable?

What resolution?  What refresh rate?

Typically at 1920x1080p60 in aVGA you can expect no more than 2-3 meters.  At 1024x768p60 you might get 5-6 meters.

With DVI-D/HDMI you might get 5 meters for 1920x1080p60.

There is a reason why Black Box, Magenta Research, , Gefen, Avocent, etc. might a nice living!
